What cause this problem iOS 18
Solutions
After updating to iOS 18 on my iPhone 13, I’ve noticed that the Home & Lock Screen is consuming an unusually large amount of screen time and battery, even during periods when the phone is not in use. It’s kept aside in Airplane Mode or Do Not Disturb, with no widgets, live wallpapers, or background activity expected.
Solution 1 : Turn Off Raise-to-Wake and Tap-to-Wake
Settings > Display & Brightness: Disable Raise to Wake.
Settings > Accessibility > Touch: Disable Tap to Wake.
Solution 2:Monitor battery usage for 24 hours
Go to Settings > Battery to check if Home & Lock Screen usage decreases.
Solution3: Verify Low Power Mode Behavior
Go to Settings > Battery and check if Low Power Mode is enabled.
Solution 4 : Ensure DND is Fully Configured
Go to Settings > Focus > Do Not Disturb.
The excessive screen time and battery consumption by the Home & Lock Screen after the iOS 18 update is likely due to unintentional screen wake-ups or a software glitch. Disabling features like Raise to Wake, Tap to Wake, and adjusting Face ID settings can help reduce this issue. If the problem persists, resetting settings or reporting the bug to Apple may be necessary.
