Will Apple’s ‘Brick’ Be an All-Screen Laptop?
Cult of Mac blogger and author Leander Kahney says he’s hoping that Apple’s upcoming product, code-named “brick,” will be a LAPTOP SIMILAR IN CONCEPT TO THE OLPC v2. The idea would be that instead of a keyboard and touchpad, the bottom half of the clamshell would be another touch screen. So you open it out flat for tablet mode, use it in two-user mode, hold it like a book for e-book mode, or just use it like a laptop with the keyboard appearing on the touch screen. As Leander says, the chances of this are “slim” — I personally think it’ll be a tablet with a more sophisticated version of the iPhone UI. But wouldn’t that be cool if they really did it?
