They said that if the number of downloads of just the iPhone Dev teams unlocking software are any inclination, then several hundred thousand people are running around with unlocked phones. I would hate to be working at the Genius Bar the day after the next iPhone update.
However, since the iPhone Dev team can’t protect your iPhone from bricking with the next update, they are going to do what they can to make the iPhone unlockable with the next update. But until then, they are working on a tool that will completely restore your iPhone to its original factory state.
